The 1st International Conference on Commerce and Management (ICCM 2026), organized by the Faculty of Commerce and Management at Eastern University, Sri Lanka, marks its inaugural international gathering under the theme “Reimagining Business in a Versatile Environment: Connectivity and Innovation.”
ICCM 2026 serves as a dynamic platform that brings together academics, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration. The conference fosters an environment where innovative ideas are exchanged, knowledge is enriched, and insightful discussions contribute to shaping the future of business in an ever-evolving global landscape.
About the University
Eastern University, Sri Lanka, established in 1986 and preceded by the Batticaloa University College (1981), is located in Vantharumoolai in the Eastern Province. The University serves a vibrant academic community of approximately 10,000 students. It operates additional campuses in Trincomalee and Kallady, and is equipped with essential academic and student facilities, including well-resourced libraries, a Centre for Information and Communication Technology, and comprehensive sports amenities. The University comprises several faculties, including the Faculty of Commerce and Management, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts and Culture, Faculty of Health-Care Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, and Faculty of Technology, each contributing to diverse academic disciplines.
Situated in Batticaloa—fondly known as the “Land of the Singing Fish” due to the unique musical sounds heard in its lagoon—the University enjoys a picturesque coastal setting. The region is renowned for its three lagoons and over 120 kilometers of pristine sandy beaches, including the famous Passikudah Beach and Kalkudah Beach, both ideal for safe and relaxing swimming.
The Faculty of Commerce and Management stands as one of the leading faculties of the University, committed to producing high-quality graduates and contributing to sustainable community development within economic and business contexts. The Faculty proudly hosts ICCM 2026, its first international conference, scheduled to be held on 23rd July 2026.
